Environmental Services
Environmental Services is a service department providing animal control, litter control, mosquito control, inmate litter removal crews, and the Adopt-A-Highway program. The Environmental Services Department supports Florence County’s missions, goals, and objectives in our day-to-day operations. We are committed to the enforcement of the county litter and animal control ordinances and reducing the threat of mosquito transmitted diseases through a total integrated pest management approach.

At the Florence County Municipal Animal Shelter, our mission is to provide compassionate care and safe shelter for homeless and abandoned animals in our community. We are dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership, reducing the overpopulation of pets through spay/neuter programs, and facilitating the adoption of animals into loving, forever homes. Through education, community outreach, and collaboration with rescue organizations, we strive to enhance the lives of both animals and people, creating a humane and caring environment for all.
