The EMS Supervisor vehicle is a 1999 Ford Explorer 4WD, with modifications done to allow it to work in a first response role. It has a strobe lightbar package, wig-wag headlights and strobes. The same walk-in equipment that is carried by the ambulances is onboard. It does not carry full immobilization gear, being more for a rapid stabilization role. Supervisors also carry paperwork and tagging materials needed to work mass casualty incidents. |
Florence County EMS Supervisor is stationed at the EMS Headquarters, on 727 S. Dargan Street, Florence. The Supervisor's Quarters (SQ) phone number is 292-1615.. The Shift Supervisors are Peggy Timmons, Chuck Haines, and Wyman Lowder. This is a 24 hour full-time First Response ALS unit. The Supervisor is responsible for all on-going operations within the county involving EMS. The Supervisor responds to calls located anywhere within the county as needed, to assume medical or operational control of a scene. The Supervisor vehicle is equipped with UHF and VHF radios, and a cell phone, enabling the Supervisor to make contact with all agencies that operate in Florence County. The vehicle is stocked with enough inventory to enable the Supervisor to make necessary drug or supply refills in the field, so the ambulance will not have to return to its base station.
