Medic One is a 1998 Ford Diesel F-350 XLT
Superduty Chassis manufactured by Wheeled
Coach for the 1999 product year. It is a Type I
module with a strobe package all around, and
Eurocab styling. It features vertical backboard
storage, and interior/exterior access to the
compartment used for walk-in equipment.

Florence County EMS Medic One is stationed at Francis Marion University, Apartment Newton 2, in eastern Florence. The present Station Supervisor is Lt. Robin Dawkins. This is a 24 hour full time ALS unit. It responds to calls mainly in the academic area of Francis Marion University, the industrialized areas near Dupont, and Hoffman LaRouche Pharmaceuticals, and the suburban areas to the east side of Florence County. Windy Hill Fire Department, Florence Rescue Squad, Howe Springs Fire and Rescue, and Francis Marion University Safety Department all work as first responder agencies along with this unit in their respective service areas.
