Florence County is the host county for the South Carolina Southeastern Agricultural Fair, which is held on the second week in October each year. Traditionally, this fair has been for farmers, housewives, and amatuer and professional craftsmen of all kinds to bring out their wares for all to see and judge. Contests are held in many categories, especially that of livestock and poultry. There is exhibition space, where local businesses and groups have booths to display the things they do. Florence County EMS has a booth each year, with a variety of themes that change as EMS itself changes. This year, with the continued emphasis on seatbelt safety and driving, we had the Crash Test Dummies at our booth. They were a big hit with the kids.
