On December 17, 1999, Florence County Emergency Medical Services held our formal Grand Opening Ceremony at the new EMS Headquarters at 527 S. Church Street. Diginitaries attending included Florence County Council Chairman Tom Smith, Councilmen Herbert Ames, Waymon Mumford, Terry Alexander, John Floyd, and County Administrator Joe King, Representative Hugh Leatherman, Dr. William Cauthen, and others too numerous to mention. A crowd of about 100 was able to attend this opening with us. Below are some pictures from the event.

Council Chairman Tom Smith bestows a gift for EMS to Director Horn. It is a print of the EMS Week 1999 feature article that appeared in the Florence Morning News about Florence County EMS. It will make a nice decoration for the new building.
Dr. William Cauthen, Carolinas Hospital System Emergency Department Physician, and FCEMS's Medical Control Physician. He spoke about the changes that have been brought about by the availability of advanced life support in this area, provided by Florence County EMS.
