Today, as part of our move to a unified paperless work and data system, all employees of Florence County EMS were issued an email name, and initialized on our Headquarters Mailserver. This will allow employees who are off-duty to access important changes in department policy and procedures, as well as scheduling changes, while on vacation or leave. It will also leave an audit trail, by the use of receipt confirmation, that employees have received vital information. All employees can access their mail through the computers in each station, which are being upgraded to Windows 2000 and Outlook 2002, or on their home computers through a web-based interface to the mailserver, running SquirrelMail version 1.1.2.
