| On April 2, 2001 FCEMS received an order from Wallys Fire
and Equipment, for bunker gear for all employees. This order has been
part of an on-going increase in the awareness of the possibility of
injury to EMS workers. About 2 years ago we started to become alarmed at
the increase in the injuries on the scene occurring in the EMS
profession. It is common to see pictures of hazardous scenes, with
extrication and/or fire dangers, and a common theme seems to be that the
fire service is in protective gear, and EMS is in shirtsleeves. We
decided that we also needed to become pro-active in providing for
protection of our personnel. To this end, we ordered custom fit bunker
gear for all full and part-time employees. |

Here Gene and Robin look as Wally starts unloading this large order. |
| Gene is showing the flexibility of the helmets and goggles we chose.
Although it is seldom necessary for EMS to be able to 'Walk like an
Egyptian' here he demonstrates it is possible. |

There were a LOT of boxes. |
| Carla wonders, "Where is my Blue Coat? Sometimes it is dangerous
IN HERE!" |

 |
"Mr. King, I think they plan to stay awhile. They brought
food." |
| This might be the first sight you see as FCEMS arrives to help you.
These bright Scotchlite stripes really stand out at night. This really
increases visibility on scene. |

But hopefully, this will not be the last sight you see! |
