Man killed by being thrown from back of moving truck

Hemingway - A bizaare accident has claimed the life of a Pamplico man.

Bubba Joe Allen Aikens, 22, was riding in the back of a pickup Tuesday night when the wind caught on the mattress he was sitting on, said Highway patroll 1st Sgt. Jo Nell.

Aikens was thrown from the truck and landed on his head. He died from the injuries, Nell said.

This accident occurred about two miles east of Hemingway.
