FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Wm. Jennings Bryan Dorn’s Department of Veterans
Affairs (VA) Florence Outpatient Clinic will change from
a contract staffed clinic to a VA staffed clinic on
February 1, 2007. The healthcare being provided
to our veteran patients will be seamless. The core
staff who are currently working at the clinic operated
by Carolina Hospital System will become employed by the
VA during the transition.
Early this fall the Sumter and Orangeburg Outpatient
clinics were converted to a VA staffed clinic. The
transition was smooth and patients are pleased with the
improved quality of care.
Currently the clinic space is leased from the Carolina
Hospital System. VA is in the process of acquiring a new
location for the clinic. “We are looking for an easily
accessible, central location with ample parking space
for our veteran patients”, said Dorn VA Medical Center
Director, Brian Heckert.
